بتی دارم که گرد گل زسنبل سایه بان دارد
بهار عارضش خطی بخون ارغوان دارد

چو عاشق میشدم گفتم که بردم گوهر مقصود
ندانستم که این دریا چه موج خون فشان دارد

زچشمت جان نشاید برد کز هر سو که میبینم
کمین از گوشه ای کردست و تیراندر کمان دارد

چو دام طره افشاند زگرد خاطر عشاق
به غماز صبا گوید که راز ما نهان دارد

چو در رویت بخندد گل، مشو در دامش ای بلبل!

عمر

طی شد اين عمر، تو دانی به چه سان ؟
پوچ و بس تند چنان باد دمان
همه تقصير من اين است که خود می دانم
که نکردم فکری
که تأمل ننمودم، روزی
ساعتی يا آنی
که چه سان ميگذرد عمر گران؟
" کودکی " رفت به بازی، به فراغت، به نشاط
فارغ از نيک و بد و مرگ و حيات
همه گفتند:کنون تا بچه است
بگذاريد بخندد شادان
که از اين پس دگرش فرصت خنديدن نيست
بايدش ناليدن
من نپرسيدم هيچ
که پس از اين ز چه رو
نتوان خنديدن؟
هيچکس نيز نگفت:زندگی چيست ؟ چرا می آييم؟
بعد از اين چند صباح
به کجا بايد رفت؟
با کدامين توشه به سفر بايد رفت؟
من نپرسيدم هيچ ، هيچ کس نيز مرا هيچ نگفت.
" نوجوانی " سپری گشت به بازی، به فراغت، به نشاط
فارغ از نيک و بد و مرگ و حيات
بعد از آن باز نفهميدم من
که چه سان عمر گذشت؟
ليک گفتند همه
که جوانست هنوز
بگذاريد جوانی بکند
بهره از عمر برد، کامروايی بکند
بگذاريد که خوش باشد و مست
بعد باز او را عمری هست
يک نفر بانگ بر آورد که: او
هم از اکنون بايد فکر آينده کند
ديگری آوا داد:
که چو فردا بشود فکر فردا بکند
سومی گفت: همان گونه که ديروزش رفت،
بگذرد امروزش، همچنين فردايش...
با همه اين احوال، من نپرسيدم هيچ
که چه سان دی بگذشت
آن همه قدرت و نيروی عظيم
به چه ره مصرف گشت؟
نه تفکر، نه تعمق و نه انديشه دمی
عمر بگذشت به بی حاصلی و مسخرگی
چه " توانی " که ز کف دادم مفت
من نفهميدم و کس نيز مرا هيچ نگفت.
قدرت عهد شباب
ميتوانست مرا تا به خدا پيش برد
ليک بيهوده تلف گشت جوانی
هيهات
آن کسانی که نمی دانستند
زندگی يعنی چه،
رهنمايم بودند
عمرشان طی شده بيهوده و بی ارزش و کار
و مرا می گفتند که چو آنها باشم،
که چو آنها دايم
فکر خوردن باشم،
فکر گشتن باشم،
فکر تأمين معاش
فکر ثروت باشم
فکر يک زندگی بی جنجال،
فکر همسر باشم
کس مرا هيچ نگفت:
زندگی ثروت نيست
زندگی داشتن همسر نيست
زندگانی کردن
فکر خود بودن و غافل ز جهان بودن نيست
من نفهميدم و کس نيز مرا هيچ نگفت
و صد افسوس که چون عمر گذشت،
معنی اش فهميدم
حال می پندارم هدف از زيستن اين است رفيق:
من شدم خلق که با عزمی جزم
پای از اين بند هوی ها گسلم
پای در راه حقيقت بنهم
با دلی آسوده
فارغ از شهوت و آز و حسد و کينه و بخل
مملو از عشق و جوانمردی و علم
در ره کشف حقايق کوشم
زره جنگ برای بد و نا حق پوشم
ره حق پويم و حق جويم و پس حق گويم
آنچه آموخته ام بر دگران نيز نکو آموزم
شمع راه دگران گردم و با شعله ی خويش
ره نمايم به همه گر چه سرا پا سوزم
من شدم خلق که مثمر باشم
نه چنين زايد و بی جوش و خروش
عمر بر باد و به حسرت خاموش
ای صد افسوس که چون عمر گذشت
معنی اش فهميدم
